hi Indiehitsproductions people, i have kinda limited time so i'm gonna copy/paste from the release email i sent out. if you listen, thank you. if you like it, thank you more.. constructive criticisms are always welcome! peace jimi hey people... the next one is done i think, this may seem simple but it's the hardest song i think i ever tried to sing... it's almost like a chant, there's no room to breathe. VERY psychedelic, it sounds kinda like something outta the 70's. first up, i wanna thank my one and only protege, mr. Todd "T-Willie" Meikle, he heard the original riff entitled "beatlesy" at the time and suddenly started going..."dude...i hear this chanting thing going like ""white is black is black is white is" "... which was exactly the CADENCE i'd heard, but not the words. so me and todd and Andre Corsini jammed it a while until it sorta reached cohesion in my brain. Todd was supposed to write the lyrics, but i as usual got impatient and did it for him. BUT>... because he helped clarify the idea for what ultimately came to fruition, i feel he deserves a partial writer's credit. or producer credit, or some kinda **** like that...whatever he wants, he's my little brother so it's all good... the guitar on this is all my late 80's Gibson SG 90 (heavily modified as usual), the bass a cheap ibanez 5 string. the guitar and bass tracks were all recorded thru my behringer V-ampire head, all on the same setting. i remember why they put knobs on guitars for. the two main pulses in this are the bass and voice, kinda freeing up the drums to play some of the most off the wall (for me) stuff i ever tried to do. in other words, the drums aren;t carrying the rhythm, the voices and bass are. weird? yes, but it gets kinda cool... i tracked with audacity 1.2.4 (my fav build still) with a little assist from the free sound editor software available on the "****" page of jimipocius.com.... it's kinda like a freeware version of steinberg's wavelab...and tho limited, can be really good for mastering stuff. Sweetboy's SH-1 VST's, Kjarhaus classic series , Blue Noise's Mountain Echo and built in audacity effects did most of the effecting digitally. oh yah...LIBERAL application of Voxengo's tube amp plug, all over everything...individually, collectively... the only stompboxes used were cheap little danelectro ones...surf & Turf, tuna melt (integral, actually)fisn-n-chips,chilli dog and my fav of them all the supremely groovy little french fries auto wah. anyways, this is a song built on contradiction and opposition. it was almost harder to write than to sing...(and singing it was damn near impossible)....trying to write a song around conflicting one-syllable words and have it tell a story and rhyme is....well, you try it. anyways, it's one of the stranger things i've done, i hope ya like it. the louder you play this one, the better it sounds (for a change). as always, it's free to listen to or download...critique is always welcomed, good or bad... and if ya REALLY like it, download a copy and tell a couple friends. peace! jimi page link: http://www.indiehitsproductions.com/members/25/aud io.php streamage link: http://www.indiehitsproductions.com/members/25/son g_player.php?mode=song_hifi&type=song_id&a=true&id =815 download link: http://www.indiehitsproductions.com/download.php?m ode=song_hifi&band_id=25&song_id=815 White Is Black Is..... Hey Folks, i don;t know if you're aware or not that our own resident Guru/Dj/Site owner Terry Martin is recovering from some heavy medical issues...if you can spare a moment to say a prayer or send him some good vibes i know it will go far towards speeding his recovery...
and NOW is a REALLY good time to DONATE TO INDIEHITSPRODUCTIONS!! i have no doubt at this point he could use all the bread he can possibly have coming in, so please dig deep and spare a few of your hard-earned ducats and show the man some love.
